The Bird & Bear Group is looking for a passionate and reliable Chef de Partie (CDP) to join our kitchen team at the Captain Cook Hotel in Paddington.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced chef who enjoys a lively pub environment, with 30+ hours per week, including evening and weekend shifts.

You'll be part of a friendly, supportive team serving delicious pizzas, bistro classics and quality pub favourites. We're looking for someone who enjoys being hands-on in the kitchen, thrives during busy services and takes pride in delivering consistently great food.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare, cook and present dishes to a consistently high standard
- Work across pizza, bistro and traditional pub-style menus
- Manage your section efficiently during preparation and service
- Maintain food quality, portion control and presentation standards
- Assist with stock rotation, ordering and inventory management
- Maintain food safety, hygiene and WHS standards
- Work closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team
- Contribute to a clean, organised and efficient kitchen
- Support junior team members when required

What We're Looking For

- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Commis Chef ready to step up
- Experience with bistro classics or quality pub-style food, preparing pizzas a bonus




- Confidence working in a busy, high-volume kitchen
- A passion for quality food and consistent execution
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Confidence managing a kitchen section during service
- Availability to work evenings and weekends
- A positive, reliable and flexible attitude
- Valid working rights in Australia
