Are you an experienced forklift driver with a background in manufacturing?

We are seeking Extrusion Assistant Process Operators to join our continuous manufacturing facility in Altona. You will play a vital role in supporting the production of our innovative, bio-responsible barrier packaging films.

The Roster & Shift Structure

This facility operates 24/7. To succeed in this role, you must be comfortable with a continuous rolling shift pattern:

- The Cycle: 2 Day Shifts (DS) - 2 Night Shifts (NS) - 4 Days Off.
- Shift Length: 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM start for Day, 7:00 PM start for Night).
- Breaks: 2 x 30-minute paid breaks per shift.
- Rest: A mandatory 24-hour rest break is built into the schedule between your last Day Shift and first Night Shift.
- Training: Initial orientation and training will be conducted on the Day Shift before you transition to the rotating roster.

Standard Roster Hours:- $45.38/Hr
Overtime Pay rate:- $71.70/Hr

Key Responsibilities

Working under the guidance of Senior Process Operators, your day-to-day will involve:

- Machine Operation: Assisting with line setups, raw material changes, and mechanical changeovers. You will monitor gauges and digital panels, safely clear material jams, and help troubleshoot minor issues.
- Material Handling: Loading raw materials (polymer resin blends and plant-based starches) into hoppers.



You will frequently operate a forklift to move raw stock, heavy pallets, and finished product rolls.
- Quality Control: Conducting visual inspections of finished films for defects, using precision tools (micrometres) to verify thickness, and logging production data into internal tracking systems.
- Safety & Housekeeping: Maintaining a spotless workspace to eliminate hazards, and strictly adhering to Lock-Out, Tag-Out (LOTO) protocols and site SOPs.

Position Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

- Licensing: A valid, current Forklift Licence (LF) with at least 6 months of experience is mandatory.
- Experience: Previous exposure to a rapid-paced manufacturing, industrial production, or polymer/chemical extrusion environment is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong mechanical reasoning, spatial awareness, and manual dexterity for industrial tool work.
- PPE: You must supply and wear your own high-visibility safety vest and steel-capped safety boots.
