SAMRAT is a well-established Indian restaurant based in Magill 5072, South Australia, known for delivering authentic, high-quality cuisine. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Full-Time Chef to join our growing team.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Full time Chef to lead and contribute to the preparation, cooking, and presentation of Indian cuisine to consistently high standards. This is a hands-on, senior kitchen role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

i.Plan, prepare, and cook a wide range of Indian and contemporary dishes
ii.Design, develop, and update menus in line with seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
iii.Supervise, train, and coordinate kitchen staff including cooks and kitchen hands
iv.Ensure all food preparation meets strict hygiene, food safety, and quality standards
v.Monitor food stock levels, order supplies, and manage kitchen inventory
vi.Control portion sizes and minimise food wastage
vii.Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation
viii.Collaborate with management on costing, pricing, and menu engineering





Required Qualifications and Experience

-Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent recognised qualification
-Minimum 1 year of post-qualification full-time (or equivalent part-time) relevant experience as a Chef
-If no trade qualification then a minimum 3 years of full-time (or equivalent part-time) relevant experience as a Chef

All candidates must also demonstrate:

-Ability to lead and manage a kitchen team
-Strong knowledge of food hygiene regulations and food safety practices
-Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and public holidays

Desirable

-Experience in authentic Indian cuisine
-Knowledge of regional Indian cooking styles

Job Type: Permanent Full-time

Work Schedule:
-8-hour shift
-Evening shift
-Rotating roster
-Weekend availability required

Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 per annum (plus Superannuation)
