JD Electrical & Communications Pty Ltd (JD Electrical Australia) is an Australian-owned electrical contractor with more than 30 years’ experience. We serve residential and commercial customers across South East Queensland, including Greater Brisbane, Logan, the Gold Coast, Caboolture and Ipswich. We are a Clean Energy Council (CEC) accredited business. Our services include general electrical work, phone, data and TV points, air-conditioning, and the supply, installation and servicing of solar PV and battery storage systems.

We are seeking an experienced Electronic Equipment Trades Worker to install, commission, fault-find and repair solar inverters, security devices and communication equipment. You will work from our Stretton base and attend residential and commercial sites across South East Queensland.

Key duties

· Install, configure and commission solar inverters, battery storage systems and their monitoring and communication equipment

· Program inverters and monitor inverter loads, status and performance data

· Test inverters and associated equipment with multimeters, insulation testers and thermal imaging to diagnose faults

· Repair or replace defective components and wiring, and coordinate warranty repairs with manufacturers

· Install,



configure and program security cameras and video doorbell devices

· Set up and troubleshoot device connectivity to monitoring apps and customer networks

· Test-operate repaired or newly installed equipment and adjust settings and firmware for correct operation

· Perform scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance on existing systems

· Advise customers on correct operation and care of their systems

· Complete commissioning and service reports, and follow WHS procedures, including isolation and working at heights

Requirements

Essential:

· Minimum 3 years’ experience installing, maintaining and repairing electronic or electrical equipment

· Robust fault-finding skills and ability to read schematics and technical documentation

· Construction Induction Card (White Card)

· Current Australian driver licence

Preferred:

· Direct experience with solar inverter installation, commissioning or repair

· Experience installing and programming CCTV or smart security devices

· Trade qualification in electrical or electronics (Certificate III or equivalent)

· Working at heights certification

Hours and salary

· Full-time, Monday to Friday (ordinary hours between 7:00am and 3:00pm)

· A$70,000 – A$90,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
