Umi Sushi is a well-established Japanese takeaway restaurant located in Glenelg, South Australia, operated by Unique Lee Pty Ltd. We offer a variety of freshly prepared sushi rolls and Japanese-style dishes, focusing on fresh ingredients, consistent food quality and friendly customer service.

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Full-Time Cook to join our team and contribute to our daily kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook a variety of Japanese-style dishes, including sushi, rice dishes and other menu items.
- Prepare ingredients, including vegetables, seafood, meat and sushi rice, according to established recipes and food safety standards.
- Maintain consistent food quality, taste, presentation and portion sizes.
- Monitor ingredient freshness, stock levels and food storage conditions.
- Assist with menu planning, food preparation and improving kitchen efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen environment.




- Follow food safety regulations and workplace health and safety procedures.
- Coordinate daily food preparation to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and assist with training junior team members when required.

Skills and Experience Required

- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience in a commercial kitchen.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations and food safety standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a rapid-paced kitchen environment.
- Good communication, organisational and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain consistent food quality.
- Experience in Japanese or Asian cuisine will be highly regarded.

Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
