Curry n Hurry is a well-established Indian restaurant based in Adelaide, South Australia, known for delivering authentic, high-quality cuisine. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Full-Time Chef to join our growing team.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Full time Chef to lead and contribute to the preparation, cooking, and presentation of Indian cuisine to consistently high standards. This is a hands-on, senior kitchen role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Plan, prepare, and cook a wide range of Indian and contemporary dishes
- Design, develop, and update menus in line with seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
- Supervise, train, and coordinate kitchen staff including cooks and kitchen hands
- Ensure all food preparation meets strict hygiene, food safety, and quality standards
- Monitor food stock levels, order supplies, and manage kitchen inventory
- Control portion sizes and minimise food wastage
- Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation
- Collaborate with management on costing, pricing, and menu engineering

Required Qualifications and Experience





With Qualification:

- Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent recognised qualification
- Minimum 1 year of post-qualification full-time (or equivalent part-time) relevant experience as a Chef
- If no trade qualification then a minimum 3 years of full-time (or equivalent part-time) relevant experience as a Chef

All candidates must also demonstrate:

- Ability to lead and manage a kitchen team
- Strong knowledge of food hygiene regulations and food safety practices
- Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and public holidays

Desirable

- Experience in authentic Indian cuisine
- Knowledge of regional Indian cooking styles

Job Type: Permanent Full-time

Work Schedule:

- 8-hour shift
- Evening shift
- Rotating roster
- Weekend availability required

Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 per annum (plus Superannuation)

Location: 121 West Terrace, Adelaide SA 5000

Pay: $80,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
