Common sense is rare these days, so we pay above award for it.
Looking for a permanent part-time admin role where your work actually gets noticed? Keep reading.
Think The Devil Wears Prada, but friendlier and in work boots. We’re a down-to-earth team, and we look after people who bring real experience.
Two award-winning businesses, one family, one role
We’re the family-run team behind two award-winning companies: a construction business and a manufacturing & ecommerce brand. You’ll be the person who keeps both running smoothly, switching hats as the day needs. No construction machinery involved, just a computer.
Why you’ll like it here
- Your effort gets noticed and rewarded. Real work counts for more than looking busy.
- A driven, solutions-first team that gets things done
- Real ownership: you’ll run the admin and support operations independently
- Trust to manage your own workload, with no micromanaging
- A Tuesday-to-Thursday week. Mondays are officially someone else’s problem.
- Above-award pay, plus training on our systems and processes
- A long-term home. We keep good people, and we’re looking for someone who wants to stay.
What the job title really means
- Administration means keeping things running smoothly.
- Support means being the backup the business relies on. You’ve given support before, and you like being the one others can lean on.
- It’s a fast-moving role, ideal if you like staying busy and pitching in wherever you’re needed.
- Triers and doers thrive here. “That’s not in my job description” isn’t really our style.
You’ll fit right in if you have:
- Years of admin experience. A degree is optional; experience isn’t.
- Common sense and street smarts
- Robust computer skills. You know macOS from Windows, iOS from DOS, .docx from .doc, and a CRM from a Post-it (the latter is frowned upon).
- Experience with, or the ability to quickly pick up, Xero, QuickBooks, ClickUp and Microsoft Teams
- Excellent written English and the know-how to format a proper letter
- Great manners.
We’re a “hello,” not a “hiya,” kind of workplace.
- Genuine organisation skills (and confidence with a hole punch and a ruler)
- Reliability. You show up when you say you will and plan your time off ahead.
- A no-drama attitude and pride in an honest day’s work
- Good personal presentation. It’s a small, close-knit office.
What you’ll be doing
- Accounts admin (the big one), including invoices, bills and data entry across both businesses
- HR support, from onboarding paperwork and employee records to timesheets and keeping things compliant
- Operations support, wearing whichever hat the day needs
- Keeping our digital filing tight, with no paper piles and no “I’ll do it later”
- Working with our external accountants
- Running errands, so you’ll need a driver’s licence and your own car (unless you enjoy taking parcels to the post office by bus)
- Occasional visits to customer job sites, including childcare centres
- Keeping the office running and looking sharp
Training
You’ll need to know your way around the software already, but we’ll train you on how we use it: our workflows, processes and the way we do things across both businesses. It’s admin, not rocket science. If you’re reliable, organised, proactive and have common sense, you’ll pick it up fast.
The fine print
- Full Australian working rights are required. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
- Because you’ll occasionally visit customer sites, including childcare centres, you’ll need to pass a national police check. It keeps everything above board for our clients and for you.
- This is an in-office role, so we’re not considering remote workers, contractors or recruitment agencies.
How to apply
Sound like you? Send your CV and a few lines on why you’re the most organised person you know. Put “Hello, not Hiya” in the subject line so we know you read to the end. We’d love to hear from you.
