Love gaming and helping others feel included? Bring those interests together at Lightmare Social Games.

We use structured, supported gaming and creative activities to help children, teenagers and adults with disability practice communication, teamwork and everyday social skills. Each participant brings their own interests, strengths and goals. Your role is to create a welcoming environment and provide the support they need to participate.

About the role

As a Social Games Leader, you’ll facilitate small-group sessions, build positive relationships and adapt activities to participants’ needs. You’ll work with the Social Games coordination team, follow individual support plans and contribute clear session records.

We’re seeking people available minimum four regular sessions per week, with ongoing casual or part-time opportunities. Session allocation will depend on availability, participant needs and suitability.

What you’ll do

- Prepare and facilitate engaging gaming sessions suited to the group’s interests, abilities and support needs.
- Help participants join conversations, express preferences, collaborate, manage frustration and ask for support.
- Adapt instructions, pacing and activities so participants have meaningful choices and opportunities to contribute.
- Support breaks and transitions, including finishing sessions respectfully and predictably.
- Respond calmly to disagreements or distress, follow support plans and seek guidance when needed.
- Maintain qualified boundaries, protect privacy and follow safeguarding and online safety procedures.
- Complete accurate attendance records and session notes, recording the support provided, progress and concerns.
- Promptly report incidents, risks and complaints through the appropriate channels.
- Participate in training, supervision and feedback to improve your practice.

About you

- Clear communication and the ability to explain activities in different ways.
- Good judgement, a calm approach to conflict and confidence asking for help.
- Respect for participant choice, dignity, culture and individual differences.
- Reliable attendance, organization and timely record keeping.
- Willingness to learn, accept feedback and follow agreed support procedures.

Experience in disability support, youth work, education, community services or group facilitation is highly valued. Relevant qualifications are welcome. Please also tell us about transferable experience, such as mentoring, coaching or hosting inclusive gaming groups.
