Role Overview

Starling Services is seeking an experienced Mental Health Clinicians to provide high-quality clinical care within the Acute Care Service. This service delivers timely and comprehensive community mental health support across a 7-day roster.

Essential Requirement: Candidates must have prior Queensland Health and CIMHA experience.

Candidate Requirements

- Current registration with the relevant professional board (Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, or Occupational Therapy).
- Relevant experience in acute community mental health care.
- Ability to work shift hours (7am – 11pm).
- All required compliance documentation (outlined below).

Documentation Certification Requirements

Certified copies (by JP, commissioner of declarations, barrister, solicitor, or notary public only) must be provided for the following:

1. Proof of Australian working rights
2. Criminal history check (valid within 3 years)
3. Three (3) forms of identification (must include one photo ID, one signature + date of birth document) such as:
- Australian driver’s licence
- Passport
- Birth certificate
- Medicare card / Health care card / Pension concession card
- Citizenship certificate
- Proof of age card / Student photo ID
- Utility bill (water/gas/electricity)
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card)

Competency Requirements

- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Hand hygiene
- Manual and patient handling
- Infection control
- Aggressive behaviour management
- Mandatory reporting (child abuse/neglect)
- Medication management (including QPHS Regulations 2012)
- Responsibilities under the Aged Care Act (Elder Abuse)

Immunisation Requirements

- Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) form with evidence of immunisation/immunity
- Tuberculosis (TB) risk assessment questionnaire

Additional Requirements

- Signed and dated CV/Resume
- Recent headshot photo (JPEG format, for ID purposes)
- Scope of Practice letter signed by the candidate
- Declaration that the candidate is not a current employee of Queensland Health

References

Applicants must provide two referee checks:
1. One (1) from a line manager within the last three (3) months
2. One (1) from a professional referee within the last twelve (12) months
