Job description

- Own the committee cycle for Club Services, Sport & Heritage.
- Work at the centre of the Club, alongside the General Manager and Executive Managers.

The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) manages the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), one of Australia's greatest assets. The MCG is host to more than 70 major events annually attracting over three million patrons and visitors.

Our purpose is to move Australia through the transformative power of live sport, entertainment and culture. Our values underpin how we operate and what we stand for as an organisation. This includes playing as a team, striving to inspire and respecting always.

An opportunity has arisen for a PA to GM – Club Services, Sport & Heritage. Reporting to the General Manager, Club Services, Sport & Heritage, this role owns the governance cycle for the division. It ensures committee meetings, papers, minutes and actions are accurate, timely and followed through, so that the division’s leaders can focus on members and delivery.

The role also manages temporary membership, supports departmental performance reporting and contract monitoring, and provides administrative support to the General Manager.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Own the Club Services, Sport and Heritage committee calendar, planning and coordinating meetings of the Club, Foundation, Club Sport, Heritage and Australian Sports Museum committees, and ensuring all stakeholders have what they need in time.
- Coordinate, prepare and distribute committee papers, with an emphasis on quality, accuracy and timeliness, and set clear expectations for how papers are written, reviewed and submitted.
- Manage meeting invitations, agendas, venues, catering and equipment, follow up acceptances, attend meetings, and prepare and distribute minutes promptly.
- Track committee actions with the General Manager and Executive Managers, following up so that every action is addressed and completed.

- Advise Executive Managers and departmental staff on governance practice and on paper and reporting standards, and improve governance processes, templates and systems where there is a better way of working.
- Manage and monitor temporary members of the MCC, maintaining accurate records in the temporary membership database and organising correspondence and membership cards where appropriate.
- Provide general administrative support to the General Manager, including diary and travel support as needed and expense and credit card reconciliations, and assist divisional managers and member or sporting section tour coordination when required.

This role is well suited to someone with strong experience in committee secretariat, governance or board support. You will write transparent minutes and papers, manage a recurring calendar of competing deadlines, and handle confidential information with discretion. Strong data and systems administration skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, with intermediate Excel) are essential. Tertiary qualifications are preferred.

Given the nature of the Club’s business, work outside usual business hours, including event days, will be required from time to time.
