About the Opportunity

Grid Electrics Group is urgently seeking an experienced, hands-on construction professional to lead and deliver our commercial solar installation and construction projects across Australia.

This is a practical, site-based role for someone who understands construction from the ground up, can coordinate workers and subcontractors, manage site operations, solve problems and personally assist with construction and installation activities where required.

We are looking for someone who can take responsibility for projects, work independently and help ensure jobs are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

This is not a desk-only project management role. We need someone willing and able to get hands-on when required.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate commercial solar construction and installation projects.
- Manage daily site activities, workers, subcontractors and project schedules.
- Carry out and coordinate construction and installation work as required.
- Coordinate civil works, excavation, concreting, mounting structures and solar installation activities.
- Organise tools, equipment, plant, materials and site deliveries.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, layouts, plans and scopes of work.
- Monitor project progress, identify issues and implement practical solutions.
- Coordinate site access, inductions, SWMS and other required documentation.
- Maintain high standards of work quality, safety and site organisation.
- Communicate progress, resource requirements and site issues to management.
- Travel to project sites across Australian states and territories as required.

Essential Requirements

- Demonstrated experience in construction,



commercial solar installation or similar site-based work.
- Experience coordinating construction teams, labourers and subcontractors.
- Strong understanding of construction tools, equipment, materials and work methods.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and coordinate site activities.
- Strong practical problem-solving, communication and leadership skills.
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel interstate.
- Relevant Australian licences, tickets and qualifications for the duties performed.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of project outcomes.

Desirable Experience

- Commercial rooftop or ground-mounted solar installation projects.
- Solar carports and mounting structures.
- Civil works, excavation, concreting and foundations.
- Forklifts, EWPs, scissor lifts and other construction plant.
- Electrical construction environments and coordination of licensed trades.
- WHS compliance, SWMS, inductions and site management.
- Experience managing multiple sites or projects across different regions.

Relevant high-risk work licences, plant tickets and electrical licences are required where applicable to the duties performed.
