Barista – Tru Coffee, Balwyn

We’re looking for a passionate, skilled and reliable barista who takes pride in making excellent coffee and creating a great experience for every customer at Tru Coffee.

Key responsibilities:

- Prepare high-quality espresso coffees for dine-in and takeaway customers, maintaining consistency in taste, presentation and quality.
- Confidently operate and maintain the espresso machine and coffee grinder, including adjusting the grind and extracting quality espresso shots.
- Work efficiently under pressure during busy morning rushes while maintaining coffee quality and speed of service.
- Manage multiple coffee orders accurately and prioritise orders in coordination with the kitchen and front-of-house team.
- Provide friendly, welcoming and attentive customer service, ensuring every guest feels valued.
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic coffee station throughout the shift.
- Follow food safety procedures and workplace standards.




- Work collaboratively with the team to keep service running smoothly and contribute to the welcoming atmosphere at Tru Coffee.

What we’re looking for:

- Previous barista experience and confidence in a busy café environment.
- Strong espresso-making skills and an understanding of coffee extraction, milk texturing and temperature.
- Excellent attention to detail, consistency and a genuine passion for coffee.
- A positive attitude, reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic.
- The ability to stay calm, organised and professional during busy periods.
- Good communication skills and a team-first mindset.

We’re looking for someone who understands that outstanding coffee is not just about the cup — it’s about consistency, hospitality and making our locals want to come back.

Pay: $26.44 – $42.49 per hour
