Day Off is located in Southport on the Gold Coast. We specialise in quality coffee, signature drinks and a curated menu, with a focus on great food and customer experience.
We are seeking a friendly, motivated and reliable Barista / Café All-Rounder to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about coffee, enjoys working with people and can contribute to a positive and efficient café environment.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and serve high-quality espresso coffee and other beverages.
- Operate coffee machines, grinders and other coffee equipment.
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service.
- Take customer orders and process payments using the POS system.
- Assist with food preparation, plating and serving menu items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation across the, including the coffee station and dining area.
- Wash dishes, cups, utensils and kitchen equipment as required.
- Assist with general cleaning, restocking and opening and closing duties.
- Restock ingredients, milk, cups and other café supplies as required.
- Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team during busy service periods.
- Assist with opening and closing duties as required.
Skills and experience
- Previous barista or café experience is preferred.
- Experience preparing espresso-based coffee and adjusting grinder settings is an advantage.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Friendly, positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced café environment.
- Good attention to detail and a strong commitment to cleanliness.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work well within a team.
- Availability to work weekends as required.
- Full working rights in Australia.
