Senior People Advisor - Rail Operations

About the Employer
Our client is an engineering and construction business working across transport, defence and major infrastructure. It combines project delivery expertise with a focus on collaboration, technical improvement and sustainable outcomes.

The Opportunity
Partner with rail business leaders from a Brisbane base to support the full employee lifecycle. Industrial and employee relations form a central part of the role, alongside workforce planning, development and broader people initiatives.

Your Responsibilities
• Coach leaders on employee relations, industrial matters and people management.
• Interpret enterprise agreements, awards, legislation and workplace policies.
• Build productive relationships with unions and workforce representatives and support consultation.
• Manage investigations, grievances, performance matters and disciplinary processes.
• Support talent and succession planning, organisational development and workforce planning.
• Contribute to remuneration reviews, benefits programs and strategic people initiatives.

RequirementsSkills, Education and Requirements
• Experience as a senior HR or people advisor or HR business partner.
• Solid employee and industrial relations experience, preferably rail, construction,



infrastructure, engineering, mining or other blue-collar operations.
• Experience with unions, enterprise agreements and workforce consultation.
• Knowledge of Australian employment legislation and Fair Work requirements.
• Ability to coach and influence leaders, resolve conflict and communicate clearly.
• Tertiary qualifications in human resources, business or a related discipline.
