About the role

Up-to-date Trailers is seeking an experienced, motivated and hands-on Operations Supervisor to work closely with our General Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our trailer manufacturing business. This is a key leadership position for someone who can take initiative, manage people, solve problems and ensure the business operates efficiently. You will work directly with the General Manager across all areas of the business, helping turn plans into action and ensuring daily operations run smoothly.

Key responsibilities

- Assist the General Manager with the daily management and overall operation of the business.

- Coordinate production, sales, purchasing, stock control and administration.

- Manage production schedules, workflow and delivery deadlines.

- Supervise staff, monitor performance and maintain workplace standards.

- Coordinate customer orders, supplier requirements and outstanding jobs.

- Monitor stock levels and purchasing requirements to minimize production delays.

- Resolve operational issues and improve productivity, quality and efficiency.

- Assist with customer enquiries, complaints and warranty matters.

- Identify opportunities to reduce costs, minimize waste and improve profitability.

- Provide regular updates to the General Manager on operational performance and issues requiring attention.

About you





- Previous experience in operations management, manufacturing management or a senior supervisory role.

- Experience in the trailer manufacturing industry is highly desirable, but not essential.

- Knowledge of trailer construction, components, fabrication and manufacturing processes will be a significant advantage.

- Strong leadership and people-management skills.

- Excellent organizational, communication and problem-solving abilities.

- The ability to manage competing priorities, make decisions independently and take ownership of responsibilities.

- A practical, hands-on approach with strong accountability and initiative.

- Commercial awareness, including an understanding of production costs, purchasing, stock control and profitability.
