This is a role where you’ll see the difference you make. Wages are the biggest cost for this multi-site hospitality and entertainment business, and they want someone to make rosters work better for the business and its people. The goal isn’t fewer staff. It’s rosters that flex up for events and busy weekends, ease off when it’s quiet, and use the right mix of casual and part-time staff.
With several hundred people across multiple venues, even small rostering changes add up to real savings, and you’ll be able to point to them. The senior team is behind this work, so when you ask a manager to do things differently, you’ll have support.
You’ll also start at a good time. The business has recently invested in improving its UKG setup, and you’ll take it over as the product owner, with the scope to shape how it’s used across every site.
You’ll report to the People & Culture Manager and work closely with senior finance and venue General Managers. Other people enter the rosters. Your job is to question them, improve them and help managers roster with more confidence. You’ll spend as much time on the venue floor as at your desk.
What you’ll do
- Review rosters across all venues and challenge patterns that are copied from week to week
- Find savings through better rostering and the right mix of casual and part-time staff
- Track wage cost by venue and help managers understand what’s driving it
- Own UKG Pro WFM, prioritising changes with IT and People & Culture
- Keep rostering compliant with Awards, Enterprise Agreements and legislation
- Spend time on the floor at busy periods to see how rosters work in practice
What you’ll bring
- Hands-on experience with UKG Pro WFM, UKG Dimensions or Kronos Workforce Dimensions. This is essential.
- Experience managing rosters for a workforce that mixes casual and part time staff
- An example of reducing labour cost through better rostering
- Confidence to challenge managers and back your view with data
- Strong analysis and reporting skills, including advanced Excel
Experience in clubs or hospitality helps but isn’t essential. Retail, aged care, health and other shift-based industries suit this role well.
What’s on offer
- Five days on site with free parking, plus flexible start and finish times for school drop-off and pick-up
- Occasional travel to regional venues
