Our client, a Federal Government statutory authority based in Surry Hills, NSW, requires the services of a Senior Drupal Developer for a 12 + 12 month contract.

Duties of the Senior Drupal Developer:

- Develop, test and maintain modern web applications using Drupal and contemporary CMS practices.
- Deliver high-quality user experiences and integrated digital solutions.
- Contribute to the development of accessible, secure and maintainable apps.
- Support the development and ongoing enhancement of reusable components, design systems and shared frontend capabilities.

Technical skills

- Be familiar with common Drupal modules such as Views, Search API, Display Suite, REST API, CSS, SCSS, PHP, Twig, and JavaScript
- Participate in code reviews, testing activities, CI/CD processes and continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality and delivery outcomes
- Utilise AI-assisted software development tools to accelerate implementation, testing, troubleshooting, documentation and delivery activities while maintaining accountability for code quality and technical outcomes.

Skills and Experience - Senior Drupal Developer:

Essential criteria

- Minimum of 3 years' experience in Drupal website development, including experience in backend and front-end Drupal site development and configuration, themes, views, content type definition, search configuration, taxonomy development, and testing.
- Proficiency in HTML, UX, PHP, MySQL, Linux, NGINX,



and knowledge of relevant standards including DSS and WCAG 2.2 AA compliance.
- Proficiency with CSS and pre-processors such as Sass or LESS.
- Advanced knowledge of JavaScript and frameworks such as jQuery.
- Experience in developing and supporting Drupal in an AWS setting.

Desirable criteria

- Experience delivering applications using modern frontend ecosystems and tooling, API-driven architectures, component libraries and cloud-native platforms.
- Experience working with specification-driven or AI-augmented software development approaches, including the use of structured requirements and design artefacts to accelerate delivery.
- Experience using agentic development tools and modern AI-assisted development workflows.
- Experience working within government, regulated or highly governed delivery environments.
