About the role …

We are seeking an experienced, confident and highly capable Operations Manager to support the safe, productive and effective operation of the Park Operations department at Adventure Park Geelong.

Reporting to the Head of Operations & Maintenance and working with the Assistant Operations Manager you will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operation of the park, with a strong focus on safety, guest experience, emergency management, staffing and operational performance.

Leading by example, you will balance high service standards with commercial performance and make timely staffing and operational decisions in response to visitor numbers, weather and business demand.

This is a hands-on operational role, and you will spend a significant proportion of your week alongside your managers and teams, monitoring service delivery & ride safety, supporting staff during peak periods and resolving issues as they arise.

Key Responsibilities:

- Providing visible leadership, support and guidance to operational teams, the wider leadership team and other departments,



promoting exceptional guest service and maintaining high standards of performance, professionalism and accountability.

- Overseeing the daily operation of Adventure Park, including its rides, attractions, amenities, guest areas and operational team members.

- Manage workforce planning, rostering and wage costs in line with attendance forecasts, weather, peak periods and event schedules.

- Completing daily operational inspections and ensuring identified issues are appropriately addressed.

- Manage significant visitor complaints, service failures and operational issues.

- Ensuring team members are appropriately trained, competent and performing their duties in accordance with approved compliance procedures and operational requirements.

- Responding to and managing incidents and emergencies, including providing first aid, coordinating appropriate emergency responses and ensuring incidents are managed, documented and reported in accordance with Park procedures.

- Ensuring the park is consistently presented to a high standard, including cleanliness, amenities, guest areas and overall operational readiness.

- Promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture by leading by example, reinforcing safe work practices and ensuring compliance with park policies, procedures and relevant legislation.





- Identifying operational risks and opportunities for improvement and working with the leadership team to implement effective solutions.

Essential Experience:

- At least several years’ management experience in aquatic, leisure, or similar operational environment such as events, venue operations or a related industry.

- Experience leading managers and developing high-performing operational teams.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Flexibility across seven operating days - Including nights and weekends

- Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.

- A practical and visible leadership style.

- Excellent interpersonal skills across all stakeholders

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable using digital operational systems.

- Current Working with Children Check.

- Hold or be eligible to obtain a current Pool Lifeguard and First Aid certificates.
