About the role

Hickinbotham of Dromana is looking for a motivated, hands-on Restaurant & Front of House Manager to help grow our restaurant, winery, brewery and cellar door operations. We need someone who can take ownership, lead by example, improve staff performance and bring fresh ideas to move the business forward.

Key responsibilities

- Oversee daily restaurant and cellar door operations

- Improve customer experience, provide professional service, and drive food and beverage sales

- Train and develop the front of house team

- Manage rostering, stock control and ordering

- Assist with events, promotions and social media

- Identify opportunities to improve and grow the business

About you

- Previous hospitality management experience

- Personable with customers, always happy to help to improve their experience

- Confident team leader who can build trust, support others, and lead with respect.

- Bring positive energy, be self-motivated and productive during quieter periods

- Not afraid of hard work, energetic and happy to lead by example

- Organized, proactive and can put fresh ideas into action

- Current RSA required; barista skills and wine/beer knowledge advantageous

Hickinbotham of Dromana is a family run business that operates a restaurant, winery, brewery and cellar door on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula. The location is just a few miles from the beach, with idyllic views across the vineyards to Port Philip Bay. Nestled amongst the gum trees, this rustic venue brings charm and the rural feel to the entire customer experience, with roaming sheep and a couple of resident alpacas to complete the scene.

Live music on weekends and an open fire over Winter, are both features at Hickinbotham.

This is a real opportunity to take ownership and make a genuine impact on a growing business, yet still keep a real work/life balance. This is a permanent part time (7 day per fortnight) position including weekends, starting at 11am and knock off by 5:30pm on days worked, with the occasional night event. The business opens Wed through Sunday, so weekday shifts can be adaptable.
