About the role

Cafe 63 Sunshine Plaza, operated by LNG Pty Ltd, is seeking a skilled and motivated Chef to join our kitchen team. This role suits someone who enjoys preparing quality meals, maintaining consistent standards and working in a busy café environment.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and cook dishes according to the café's menu, recipes and quality standards.
- Assist with menu planning and the development of specials, considering seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Monitor food quality throughout preparation, cooking and presentation.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, allocate duties and coordinate daily kitchen activities.
- Monitor stock levels, order ingredients and supplies, and ensure correct food storage and stock rotation.
- Assist with estimating food and labour costs, managing portion sizes and minimising waste.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace safety requirements.




- Discuss food preparation requirements and resolve operational issues with management and kitchen staff.
- Work with front-of-house staff to accommodate dietary requirements and respond to customer feedback.

About you

- At least one year of full time experience as a Chef in a similar setting.
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and Diploma of Hospitality Management, or equivalent relevant qualifications.
- Strong cooking skills and attention to food quality and presentation.
- Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and kitchen operations.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy environment.
- Strong communication, leadership and teamwork skills.
- Availability to work a flexible roster, including weekends and public holidays.
