About the role

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will take overall responsibility for workshop operations, production planning, team leadership, cost control and continuous improvement. This position suits a practical leader who combines strong people management with sound commercial judgement.

Key responsibilities

- Lead daily workshop operations, production schedules and resource allocation.

- Manage workflow, labour utilisation, productivity and customer delivery commitments.

- Identify bottlenecks and implement measurable operational improvements.

- Promote a proactive safety culture and safe chemical handling practices.

- Oversee risk assessments, inspections, incident investigations and corrective actions.

- Maintain robust housekeeping and compliance with applicable safety and environmental requirements.

- Lead, coach and develop supervisors and operational employees.

- Manage workforce planning, training, competency, attendance and performance.

- Communicate priorities and build a respectful, accountable team culture.

- Control labour costs, overtime, consumables, purchasing and inventory.

About you

- Proven experience as an Operations Manager, Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager or similar.





- Strong experience leading teams in manufacturing, industrial processing, workshops or related operations.

- Demonstrated capability in safety leadership, production planning, cost management and performance improvement.

- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

- Confidence with Microsoft Office and operational reporting.

- A hands-on, practical leadership approach and strong commercial awareness.
