About us

Uno Caffè & Pizzeria is a busy Italian caffè and pizzeria in Strathpine, known for wood-fired pizza, fresh pasta and quality coffee. We’re looking for an experienced Chef to join our kitchen team on a permanent, full time basis.

Duties
Plan and develop menus, specials and recipes, including Italian dishes and wood-fired pizzas
Prepare, cook and present a wide range of dishes to a consistent, high standard
Operate and maintain the wood-fired pizza oven
Supervise, train and roster kitchen staff, including cooks and kitchen hands
Monitor food quality, portion sizes and presentation
Order, receive and control stock and supplies, and manage food costs and wastage
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards
Maintain a clean,



organised kitchen in line with HACCP requirements
Liaise with front-of-house staff and management on service and menu changes

Specialist skills and experience
Proven experience in Italian cuisine
Proven experience in wood-fired pizza cooking
Experience preparing fresh pasta, sauces and dough in a commercial kitchen
Experience supervising or leading kitchen staff
Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices

Qualifications and experience
Trade qualification in commercial cookery (Certificate III or higher), or equivalent relevant experience
Current Food Safety Supervisor certificate (preferred)

Conditions
Full time, permanent position (38 hours per week, rostered over 7 days)
$80,000 per annum plus superannuation

Pay: $80,000.00 per year
