Role Description The Electrical Maintenance Specialist is a full-time, in office role based in the bowen basin area, QLD. This position is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and components on trucks and related equipment. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing electrical faults, performing preventive maintenance, conducting electrical troubleshooting, and ensuring all work meets safety and regulatory standards. The role involves collaborating with mechanics and other maintenance specialists, documenting work performed, and supporting continuous improvement of maintenance processes. The specialist is expected to work efficiently, maintain a clean and safe work environment,
and provide transparent communication about repair needs and timelines. Qualifications
• Strong skills in Electrical Maintenance and practical knowledge of Electricity in automotive or heavy vehicle environments.
• Proficiency in Troubleshooting and Electrical Troubleshooting for truck and equipment systems.
• Experience performing Preventive Maintenance on electrical components to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Relevant trade qualification or certification in electrical or automotive electrical work (e.g., licensed electrician, auto electrician, or equivalent).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical manuals, and service documentation.
• Solid understanding of workplace health and safety practices, particularly in workshop and heavy vehicle settings.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a maintenance team.
• Previous experience in truck or heavy vehicle maintenance is highly beneficial; experience in similar industrial or fleet environments is an advantage.
