HDD Superintendent - Horizontal Directional DrillingReporting directly to senior management, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day performance of our HDD division.Your responsibilities will include:Lead and manage multiple HDD crews across active projectsDrive daily and weekly production targets and metres deliveredPlan drill crew allocation, plant, tooling and supporting resourcesEnsure drill crews are productive and downtime is minimisedMonitor production performance and identify constraints before they impact deliveryCoordinate drill shots, site preparation, locating, mud management, reaming and pullback operationsManage HDD equipment, tooling, drill rods, reamers, sonde systems and associated plantTake ownership of equipment condition,
preventative maintenance and breakdown managementEnsure operators complete daily pre-starts and equipment inspectionsReduce unnecessary plant damage, misuse and avoidable repair costsWork with project and operations teams to develop realistic construction and drilling programsManage subcontract HDD crews where requiredMentor drillers, locators and developing operatorsMaintain robust standards around safety, quality and site presentationReview difficult bores and assist crews with drilling methodology, tooling selection and problem solvingProvide management with clear reporting on metres, productivity, downtime, equipment and crew performance
