Our team is developing an IoT and AI-driven platform designed to solve real-world challenges for farmers, and we're looking for a Test Engineer to help ensure everything we build is reliable, scalable, and ready to perform.About the RoleAs our Software Test Engineer, you'll play an important role in ensuring the quality and reliability of the eShepherd platform.You'll design, execute and maintain test plans across backend services, APIs, frontend interfaces, and device-related features.
Working closely with Software Engineers, Product, UX/UI, Data and DevOps specialists, you'll help validate new functionality, identify issues early and support the continuous delivery of high-quality releases.This is a practical role combining manual testing, test automation, and continuous improvement.
You'll have the freedom to investigate complex problems, improve testing processes, and help build quality into every stage of the development lifecycle.What You'll Be DoingDesigning and executing test plans across web, API and device-based featuresPerforming functional, regression, integration and end-to-end testingDeveloping and maintaining automated test scripts and supporting CI/CD testing practicesIdentifying, documenting and validating defects to support high-quality releasesCollaborating with Product, Engineering and DevOps teams to improve quality across the platformUsing monitoring and observability tools to investigate system behaviour and troubleshoot issuesContributing to continuous improvement of testing tools,



processes and automationWho You AreYou're an analytical and curious Test Engineer who enjoys getting into the detail, asking the right questions and uncovering issues before they reach customers.You're comfortable working in a fast-moving setting where priorities can change, information may not always be complete, and taking initiative is valued.
You work well independently but enjoy collaborating with others to solve complex problems and deliver better outcomes.You'll bring:Experience in software testing, including designing and executing test casesExperience with functional, integration and end-to-end testing methodologiesExposure to test automation tools such as Cypress, JUnit or similarProgramming or scripting experience in JavaScript, Java, Python or comparable languagesExperience working with APIs and CI/CD environmentsStrong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teamsA proactive mindset with strong attention to detail and ownershipExperience with some of the following would be an advantage:AWS or cloud-native environmentsCypress, JavaScript, Java or PythonDocker, Kubernetes or microservicesIoT, connected devices or AgTech productsWhy Join eShepherdTM?
