Learn, develop and build your career in residential construction

Are you interested in how homes come together, comfortable working with numbers and keen to learn? This is an opportunity to develop your estimating skills with a reputable residential home building contractor based in the Hills District.

Joining the Procurement and Development Department and reporting to the Head of Department, you’ll help compile pricing and product information across a variety of home designs, façades and building specifications.

Previous experience is welcome, but your attitude matters most. If you’re organised, curious and willing to learn, we’d love to hear from you.

About the role

With guidance from the team, your responsibilities will include:

- Reviewing master plans, designs and specifications to compile estimating data.
- Assisting with pricing and estimating building products, façades, design options and finishes.
- Requesting, collating and comparing supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Helping maintain pricing databases, product information and estimating records.
- Assisting with quantity take-offs and identifying changes between plan revisions.
- Liaising with internal teams and suppliers to clarify pricing and product details.
- Supporting accurate documentation and the timely completion of estimating tasks.
- Learning to use estimating systems, spreadsheets and approved AI tools to support efficient, accurate workflows.





About you

You’ll bring:

- A positive, can-do attitude and a genuine willingness to learn.
- An interest in the building and construction industry.
- Strong administration skills and attention to detail.
- Confidence working with numbers and checking information for accuracy.
- Good time management and the ability to prioritise tasks.
- The ability to work collaboratively and independently when required.
- Sound computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and Excel.
- An openness to learning new systems and AI-assisted workflows.

Around 12 months of experience in estimating, construction administration or a similar role would be advantageous, but is not essential. This prospect could also suit someone entering the industry who demonstrates initiative, reliability and a strong work ethic.
