Be the educator who makes every child feel safe, understood and valued. Join our growing team!
Who we are
Campbelltown Community Children’s Centre (CCCC) is a not-for-profit, 100-place multicultural early learning service committed to upholding children’s rights, safety, dignity and wellbeing. CCCC operates Monday to Friday, from 7.00 am to 6.00 pm, 50 weeks of the year.
With 50 years of community connection, we have a long-standing reputation for building meaningful relationships with children, families and the wider community. We provide high-quality education and care in a welcoming, nurturing and inclusive environment where every child and family feels a strong sense of belonging.
As our Flying Start 3-Year-Old Preschool Program continues to grow, we are expanding our team and seeking a passionate, experienced and nurturing Diploma-Qualified Early Childhood Educator to work with children aged approximately 2 years and 8 months to 3 years and 6 months.
Our educational approach is play-based, child-centred and inclusive. We recognise children as capable, curious and competent learners and believe that strong, respectful relationships are the foundation of meaningful learning and development.
At CCCC, we understand that quality education and care is not simply about completing tasks or following routines. It is about being genuinely present for children, understanding their individual needs, responding with empathy and creating an environment where every child feels safe, connected and confident to explore the world around them.
We are a Child Safe organisation, and the safety, wellbeing and protection of every child are our highest priorities.
Who you are
We are looking for an educator who genuinely loves working with young children and understands the importance of being emotionally available, attentive and responsive throughout the day.
You recognise that children aged two to three years are navigating an important stage of development. They are building relationships, developing language, exploring independence, learning to regulate their emotions and discovering how to interact with others. They need educators who are patient, consistent, observant and willing to take the time to understand what each child is communicating through their words, actions and behaviours.
You understand that children need educators who are there for them — not simply educators who are present in the room.
We are seeking someone who leads through their actions, not simply their position. You will understand that leadership in an early childhood room is demonstrated through initiative, reliability, respectful communication,
sound decision-making and a willingness to support both children and colleagues.
Above all, you genuinely care about the children in your care. You understand that small moments — comforting a child who is upset, sitting alongside them as they explore, helping them navigate a disagreement or celebrating a new achievement — can have a lasting impact on their confidence, relationships and sense of security.
About the role
As a Diploma-Qualified Early Childhood Educator, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of high-quality education and care within our room for children aged approximately 2 years and 8 months to 3 years and 6 months.
Working alongside the Team Leader, co-team and wider educational team, you will help create a safe, engaging and nurturing environment that supports children's learning, development and wellbeing throughout the day.
Work Days are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
The successful applicant must be available to work a roster within our operating hours, with the employment status and contracted hours to be confirmed as part of the recruitment process.
You will contribute to the implementation of the educational program, support children's individual learning journeys and help maintain a consistent, respectful approach to relationships, routines and behaviour guidance.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or an equivalent ACECQA-approved qualification.
- A current Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certification.
- Current Child Protection Training
- Understanding of Child Safe Standards & Child Protection legislation
- Demonstrated understanding of the developmental needs of children aged approximately 2 years and 8 months to 3 years and 6 months.
- Experience working with young children in a long day care or early learning environment.
- The ability to recognise and respond to children's individual needs, interests, emotions and behaviours with empathy and professionalism.
- Demonstrated initiative, reliability and leadership qualities, including the ability to support a Team Leader and work collaboratively with a co-team.
- The ability to manage daily responsibilities in a balanced and organised manner while maintaining a strong focus on children's needs.
All applicants must be willing to undergo reference checks, including recent employer references, verification of qualifications and the required child-related employment screening in accordance with legislative requirements.
Our Child Safe Commitment
At CCCC, child safety is everyone's responsibility. All staff are expected to:
- Actively uphold and promote children's safety, wellbeing, dignity and rights.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and ethical conduct at all times.
- Listen to children, respect their voices and support their right to be heard.
- Identify, respond to and report concerns regarding child safety in accordance with legislative and organisational requirements.
- Follow all Child Secure Environment policies, procedures and reporting obligations.
- Contribute to a culture where children feel safe, respected, included and protected.
How to apply
If you are a Diploma-qualified educator who believes that meaningful early childhood education begins with relationships, and you are passionate about being a positive, consistent and caring presence in children's lives, we would love to hear from you.
Please submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your experience, your approach to working with children aged approximately 2 years and 8 months to 3 years and 6 months, and how you contribute to a collaborative and supportive team.
We are particularly interested in hearing how you respond to challenging behaviours, build trusting relationships with young children, demonstrate initiative and support your colleagues while keeping children's needs at the centre of your practice.
At CCCC, we believe the difference we make is found in the way we show up for children every day. If this reflects the educator you are, we invite you to join our team and help our children feel safe, valued, understood and ready to thrive.
