About the role

We are seeking an experienced Tax Associate or Tax Senior Associate to join our growing tax law team in Sydney NSW on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your tax law career within a respected practice that values technical skill, strategic thinking and career development. As a Tax Associate or Tax Senior Associate, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality tax advisory services to our diverse client base, across a range of tax practice areas. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with other experienced tax practitioners and senior clients on matters of genuine complexity and significance.

Key responsibilities

- Provide high-value tax advice on matters including cross-border issues, reorganisations, discretionary trusts and capital gains.

- Conducting tax research and analysis on complex tax issues to support client advice and transactions

- Assisting with tax structuring advice for mergers, acquisitions, acquisitions and corporate reorganisations

- Assist clients in dealings with the Australian Taxation Office and other revenue authorities.

- Collaborate with foreign counsel, including US and UK lawyers, on the interaction between foreign and Australian tax rules.

- Provide ongoing tax support to family offices of Top 500 and Next 5,000 taxpayers with respect to succession planning and family law matters as well as philanthropy.

- Building and maintaining strong client relationships through responsive and high-quality service delivery

- Where appropriate for Senior Associates,



providing mentoring and guidance to junior practitioners

What we're looking for

- Admitted to practice in Australia, with at least three years’ tax law experience gained at a law firm, accounting firm or other specialist practice.

- For Tax Associate level: Completion of specialised tax law studies or demonstrated commitment to developing tax law expertise

- For Tax Senior Associate level: A minimum of 3-5 years' post-admission experience in tax law practice

- A genuine interest in tax policy and emerging developments.

- Excellent legal research and writing skills with the ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly

- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment

- Strong knowledge of Australian tax legislation and principles.

- For Senior Associate level: Evidence of mentoring or supervisory experience and demonstrated leadership potential
