Design Engineer – Data Centres & Mission-Critical Projects

Salary: $145k - $$170k Base

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join a project delivery team working on data centre and other mission-critical infrastructure projects.

You will coordinate multidisciplinary building services design from early contractor involvement through construction, commissioning and handover, ensuring designs are compliant, cost-effective and constructable.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire protection and controls design.
- Review designs for technical compliance, constructability, maintainability and cost efficiency.
- Manage design programmes, RFIs, design issues and 3D model coordination.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and support procurement activities.
- Collaborate with construction teams to resolve technical issues and support site delivery.
- Assist with commissioning,



integrated systems testing and project handover.

About You

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum five years' experience in building services design, coordination or commissioning.
- Experience in data centres, hospitals, defence or complex commercial projects.
- Strong understanding of design and construct (D&C;) project delivery.
- Excellent technical, communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
