Assistant Design Manager | Adelaide Airport

The Opportunity

Redpath Partners is partnering with Adelaide Airport to appoint an Assistant Design Manager into a newly created role within the Planning, Development and Delivery team.

Established to support the airport’s growth and expanding development pipeline, this is a rare opportunity to join a true client-side environment and help shape the design management function across different business units.

From contributing to the $600m Project Flight program, including gate lounge upgrades and terminal expansions, through to warm shell and cold shell developments, tenant fitouts and smaller design works, the variety of projects makes this a unique opportunity.

About The Role:

- Reporting to the Design Manager, you’ll work across the Landside, Airside and Property teams, supporting a diverse portfolio of airport infrastructure, commercial property and tenant development projects.

- Collaborating with internal business units to interpret briefs, assess feasibility and translate business needs into practical design solutions.

- Coordinating consultants, stakeholders and design reviews to achieve quality outcomes aligned with operational and commercial requirements.

- Supporting projects from early planning and concept development through to procurement, construction, handover and project close-out.

- Reviewing technical drawings and design documentation, resolving design issues and ensuring design intent is maintained throughout delivery.

- Preparing feasibility studies, test fits, concept designs and visualisations to support planning and development opportunities.

- Contributing to the ongoing development of airport design standards, guidelines and processes.

About You

You’re proactive, organised and collaborative, with strong communication skills and the confidence to work with diverse stakeholders. Taking pride in your work and bringing a genuine,



respectful approach are equally important, along with an understanding of how design decisions influence the built environment and day-to-day business operations.

A background in architecture, interior design or project coordination, ideally supported by a degree in architecture or a related discipline, would be well suited to the role.

Experience across airports, defence, retail, commercial property or other complex operational environments will be beneficial.

What You’ll Bring

- 3-6 years’ experience across architecture, design consultancy, construction or property development.

- A bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Design Studies or a related discipline.

- Experience coordinating design consultants, contractors and stakeholders.

- A sound understanding of design development, technical documentation and construction processes.

- The ability to interpret briefs, assess feasibility and develop practical design solutions.

- Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.

- Experience with Revit and digital design tools will be highly regarded.
