Gorilla Jobs is seeking experienced Locum Sonographers to join a well-established and supportive medical imaging service on the Gold Coast from mid-November until the end of December 2026.

About the Opportunity

You'll be joining a busy, well-supported medical imaging service offering a diverse range of ultrasound examinations across established Gold Coast facilities.

The role primarily involves general ultrasound, with opportunities for additional clinical exposure depending on your experience and preferences.

Typical examinations include:

- Abdominal ultrasound
- Pelvic ultrasound
- Thyroid examinations
- Some obstetric ultrasound
- A mix of routine and more complex examinations

You'll work alongside experienced imaging professionals, with access to radiologist support when required. Scanning responsibilities can be adjusted to suit your clinical competencies and areas of interest.

Flexible schedule & Excellent Work-Life Balance

This opportunity offers a flexible arrangement for sonographers seeking a short-term placement without the usual after-hours commitments.
Standard shifts are generally 8:30 am - 4:30 pm or 7am-3pm, with some alternative shifts available depending on the department and your preferences.
No weekends. No on-call. No compulsory after-hours shifts.




Whether you're available for a few weeks or the entire placement through to late December, we'd be happy to discuss an arrangement that suits your availability.

About You

- Current ASAR accreditation
- Strong experience in general ultrasound
- Confidence performing abdominal, pelvic and thyroid examinations
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Availability between mid-November and the end of December 2026

What's On Offer?

- $110-$120 per hour + Super, depending on experience
- Flights, accommodation and car hire provided
- Flexible locum dates - shorter placements or the full period considered
- No weekend work or on-call requirements
- Predominantly Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm or 7am - 3pm
- Manageable workload of approximately 12 patients per day
- Supportive and experienced medical imaging teams
- Modern ultrasound equipment, including Siemens, GE and Philips
- Flexible scanning duties tailored to your skill set and clinical interests
