Senior Legal Counsel – Consumer / Business Finance

Our client is an established finance business to consumers and businesses across Australia providing auto loans, business loans, personal loans and property loans. As the business continues to grow, it is looking for a commercially minded senior legal counsel to lead its Australia legal function and help shape its next chapter.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a lawyer who is comfortable operating as both trusted adviser and problem-solver in a fast-moving, regulated consumer and commercial lending environment.

The successful candidate will have:

- Substantial post-admission experience in financial services, consumer credit or banking law
- In-house experience within a lender or broker is highly regarded, though outstanding candidates from private practice will also be considered
- A commercial, solutions-focused approach with the confidence to give clear, decisive advice under pressure
- Robust stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with the executive team, Board, regulators and external counsel
