About the Role

Cobb & Co. Roadhouse is seeking an experienced Cook to join its food service team. The successful candidate will prepare and cook a range of roadhouse-style meals and takeaway items while maintaining consistent food quality, portioning, presentation and food safety during daily service.

$75,000 to $85,000 per annum plus Superannuation

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook a range of roadhouse-style meals, takeaway items and other menu offerings in accordance with established recipes and kitchen procedures
- Inspect ingredients and food products to ensure freshness and appropriate quality
- Regulate temperatures of grills, fryers, ovens and other commercial cooking equipment
- Season food during preparation and cooking to maintain consistent flavour and quality
- Portion and present meals in accordance with established business standards




- Prepare food to accommodate dietary requirements and reasonable customer requests where required
- Monitor ingredient usage and assist with estimating food requirements for daily service
- Store, handle and rotate food appropriately, including within temperature-controlled storage areas
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations, cooking equipment and food storage areas
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen and service staff to support efficient meal preparation and customer service
- Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures at all times

Candidate Requirements

- Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or a related discipline
- Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen, roadhouse, café, takeaway or similar food service environment
- Strong knowledge of food preparation and commercial cooking techniques
- Ability to maintain consistent food quality, portioning and presentation during busy service periods
- Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe food-handling practices
- Strong teamwork, communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced roadside hospitality environment
