We're looking for an Assistant Café Manager to join our Chadstone team. Someone who enjoys the pace of a busy café, takes pride in the details and knows how to create an experience that keeps customers coming back.

About Mörk Chocolate

Mörk Chocolate began with a desire to create a better drinking chocolate. One that celebrates the natural flavours of cacao, made with carefully sourced ingredients and without unnecessary additions.

Today, we roast cacao and make chocolate at our Chocolate Foundry in North Melbourne, alongside our own bakery and a collection of cafés and retail spaces across Melbourne.

We're passionate about flavour, quality and the experience we create around chocolate, from the products we make to the way they're served and shared.

The Prospect

Our Chadstone venue brings together specialty coffee, our signature drinking chocolates, pastries and baked goods from our Mörk bakery, and a carefully curated retail range, all within one of Melbourne's busiest shopping centres.

Working closely with our Café Manager, you'll help lead the team, maintain high standards and take responsibility for the venue during your shifts.

This is a hands-on role, with most of your time spent on the floor. You'll be making coffee, preparing drinking chocolates, helping customers discover our products and guiding the team through busy periods, while also supporting the day-to-day running of the venue.

What you'll be doing:

- Leading the team through daily service,



setting the standard and taking responsibility for the café when the Café Manager isn't there.

- Preparing specialty coffee and our signature drinking chocolates, with care and attention to detail.

- Creating a welcoming café and retail experience, helping customers discover our chocolate and bakery range.

- Training and developing team members, sharing knowledge and building confidence.

- Maintaining high standards across service, presentation, stock and merchandising.

- Supporting the Café Manager with sales, labour, stock and day-to-day planning as needed.

About You

We're looking for someone who brings both hospitality experience and the confidence to lead people.

Ideally, you'll have:

- Experience leading a team in a busy café, hospitality or retail environment.

- Strong barista skills and an appreciation for specialty coffee.

- Confidence managing shifts independently and making decisions.

- A natural, engaging approach to customer service.

- An understanding of sales, stock and the commercial side of running a venue.

- A hands-on approach, attention to detail and a willingness to get involved wherever needed.

You don't need to know everything about chocolate. We'll teach you that. What matters is that you're curious, willing to learn and enjoy sharing that knowledge with others.

Hours & Availability

This is a full-time position working 38 hours across five days, including Saturdays and Sundays, with two weekdays off. Shifts will include a mix of daytime and evening trade.
