An opportunity has become available for an experienced Branch Manager or commercially minded sales professional to take ownership of an established WA operation specialising in acoustic, thermal and fire insulation products.
Located roughly 30-minutes south of Perth CBD, this position will suit someone who enjoys the balance between managing a branch, developing customer relationships and getting out on the road to identify new business opportunities.
We're equally interested in speaking with Branch Managers from electrical or plumbing wholesalers, HVAC suppliers, commercial building products or industrial distribution businesses who understand how to manage a branch while driving sales.
Alternatively, someone from a technical sales or business development background who is ready to take the next step into branch management would also be considered.
The Prospect
This is a hands-on Branch Manager position with responsibility for a WA operation carrying an annual sales budget of approximately $3M.
You'll oversee a small team of two including warehouse manager while taking ownership of the branch's commercial performance, customer relationships and day-to-day operations.
A key part of the position will involve getting out on the road, developing relationships with existing customers and identifying new opportunities across commercial construction projects throughout Western Australia.
You'll work with builders, contractors, engineers, consultants and other industry stakeholders to understand project requirements and promote suitable acoustic, thermal and fire insulation products.
The business is looking for someone who can manage the operational side of a branch while maintaining a strong commercial focus, identifying opportunities and growing revenue.
This isn't a position where you'll be sitting behind a desk all day. You'll have the autonomy to manage the branch while remaining actively involved in sales and customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the WA branch, managing an annual sales budget of approximately $3M.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the branch and provide leadership to a small team.
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing commercial and industrial customers.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across commercial construction projects.
- Build relationships with builders, contractors, engineers, consultants and other decision-makers.
- Promote acoustic, thermal and fire insulation products across a variety of applications.
- Manage branch sales performance, budgets and commercial objectives.
- Support internal staff with customer enquiries, quotations and operational requirements.
- Identify upcoming projects and opportunities to have products specified.
- Balance branch management responsibilities with external sales and business development activities.
About You The business is open to considering candidates from several different backgrounds, provided they bring strong commercial experience, leadership capability and an understanding of technical or trade-related products.
Ideally, you'll have experience in one or more of the following:
- Branch management within electrical, plumbing, HVAC or industrial wholesale.
- Management or sales experience within commercial building products.
- Facades, cladding, roofing, insulation or other construction materials.
- Technical sales or business development across commercial construction projects.
- Industrial distribution, engineering products or related technical markets.
- Managing a branch or small team with responsibility for sales targets and commercial performance.
Beyond your industry background, we're looking for someone who:
- Has strong commercial awareness and understands how to manage a branch budget.
- Enjoys being hands-on with customers and developing new business opportunities.
- Can lead a small team while remaining involved in the day-to-day business.
- Has experience working with builders, contractors, consultants or trade customers.
- Is comfortable managing sales targets, customer relationships and operational priorities.
- Can work autonomously and take ownership of branch performance.
- Brings a practical, solutions-focused approach to customer requirements.
You don't need to have managed a large team or worked specifically within insulation.
Someone currently managing a branch within an electrical wholesaler, plumbing supplier or building products distributor who enjoys getting out on the road and developing commercial relationships could be particularly well suited.
Equally, an experienced technical sales professional with strong commercial experience who is looking for their first branch management opportunity would be encouraged to apply.
What's On Offer
- Base salary between $100,000 and $130,000 + superannuation, negotiable depending on experience.
- Company vehicle or car allowance.
- Ownership of an established WA branch with an annual sales budget of approximately $3M.
- Opportunity to lead a small team while remaining actively involved in sales.
- Exposure to a range of commercial construction and industrial markets.
- Autonomous position with responsibility for branch performance and business development.
- Support from an established business with a specialised product portfolio.
If you're currently managing a branch within the wholesale, building products or industrial distribution sector, or you're an experienced technical sales professional looking to take the next step into management, we'd welcome a confidential conversation.
