- Reading and interpreting building plans, drawings and specifications to determine carpentry requirements.
- Measuring, marking, cutting and shaping timber and other building materials using hand and power tools.
- Constructing, assembling and installing timber frameworks, wall frames, roof structures, flooring systems and other structural components.
- Installing doors, door frames, windows, skirting boards, architraves and other timber fixtures and fittings.
- Constructing and installing timber partitions, ceiling frames and internal fit-outs.
- Installing timber decking, outdoor structures and other carpentry components as required.
- Carrying out renovations, alterations, repairs and maintenance of existing timber structures.
- Ensuring all carpentry work is completed accurately and in accordance with building plans, specifications and quality standards.
- Coordinating with site supervisors, builders and other tradespeople to ensure effective completion of construction activities.
- Maintaining tools and equipment and ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
