Kolapasi Indian Restaurant is a fast-growing and highly regarded South Indian restaurant brand known for authentic regional flavours, traditional recipes, and exceptional customer experiences across Australia.
We are currently seeking a passionate, qualified, and experienced Chef to join our Gold Coast kitchen team.
This is an exciting prospect for a motivated hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality, authentic Indian cuisine.
About the Role
You will be responsible for:
- Preparing and cooking authentic Indian dishes with consistency and quality
- Managing kitchen operations during busy service periods
- Assisting with menu planning and seasonal specials
- Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards
- Monitoring stock levels and minimising wastage
- Supervising and training junior kitchen staff
- Ensuring presentation and flavour standards are maintained at all times
Skills & Experience Required
- Relevant chef qualification (Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Kitchen Management - AQF)
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Chef in an Indian restaurant or similar style of cooking
- Strong knowledge of South Indian cuisine, spices, curries, biryanis, and tandoor cooking
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Robust understanding of food safety and kitchen compliance
- Team-oriented attitude with a positive work ethic
