COOK REQUIRED FOR INDIAN RESTAURANT IN TRUGANINA, VIC 3029

One full-time position of Cook at our Indian Restaurant, namely, Mitran Da Dhaba Melbourne Pty Ltd trading as Mitran Da Dhaba Truganina, situated at 6-209 Palmers Road, Truganina VIC 3029, is available for immediate start for 38 hours a week. The candidates should be qualified in at least a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and should have a minimum of 1 year of relevant full time equivalent experience as a Cook in Australia. Any additional qualification in hospitality management will be highly desirable.

The candidate should be able to undertake the following duties and responsibilities:

· Food quality checking/inspection of the raw materials

· Setting temperatures of various cooking appliances

· Preparation, cutting, chopping and marinating

· Preparing and cooking food for various occasions including ala carte





· Food seasoning for cooking & adding gravies or sauces, garnishes

· Placing food portions in dishes

· Assisting the Chef in planning of menus

· Supervising and collaborating with other kitchen staff for ensuring smooth conduct of kitchen operations

· Food preparation for allergic or diabetic customers

· Taking customer feedback

· Complaint-handling & problem solving skills

· Ensuring hygiene and cleanliness of utensils, kitchen area and equipment used in food preparation

· Order Groceries and supplies as required by monitoring their stock

· Food safety and storage in temperature controlled facility
