This is an opportunity for an accomplished luxury retail leader to take ownership of an important product category, combining commercial accountability, team development and elevated client engagement within a sophisticated international workplace.

Reporting to the senior boutique leadership team, you will maintain a highly visible presence on the sales floor—leading by example, developing your team and driving the commercial success of the Womenswear department.

The opportunity

As Department Manager, you will:

- Lead the commercial performance of the Womenswear department, delivering sales targets and key performance indicators.

- Review departmental results, identify opportunities and implement focused action plans to improve performance.

- Coach, motivate and develop a team of luxury sales professionals, creating clear expectations and a positive, high-performing culture.

- Maintain a strong presence on the sales floor, personally supporting client interactions and leading by example.

- Deliver an exceptional luxury client experience from the initial welcome and selling ceremony through to clienteling and after-sales care.

- Support the team in developing genuine, long-term relationships with local, interstate and international clients.

- Drive proactive client outreach, appointments, CRM activity, retention and the continued development of the department’s client portfolio.

- Encourage thoughtful cross-selling across women’s ready-to-wear, leather goods, footwear and accessories.

- Maintain detailed knowledge of collections, product construction, craftsmanship, contemporary fashion and local and international market trends.

- Coordinate product and collection training to strengthen the team’s confidence, styling capability, storytelling and commercial performance.

- Ensure the department consistently meets the house’s visual merchandising, presentation and grooming standards.

- Monitor product performance and provide relevant commercial feedback to the senior boutique leadership team.

- Oversee the effective organisation of stock, back-of-house processes and the protection of company assets.

- Conduct regular team briefings and ensure clear communication of commercial priorities, product information and operational expectations.

- Work closely with the Store Director, Assistant Store Manager and wider boutique team to support the successful daily operation of the business.

About you To be successful, you will offer:

- Established management experience within luxury fashion, premium designer retail or another highly elevated client setting.

- Strong knowledge of womenswear, supported by a genuine interest in design, craftsmanship, styling and contemporary fashion.

- A proven record of leading teams and delivering sales targets, KPIs and commercial growth.

- Confidence interpreting performance results and translating them into clear priorities for your team.

- Experience building and maintaining high-value client relationships through appointments, outreach, events and considered follow-up.

- The ability to provide confident styling advice and develop complete, considered looks across multiple product categories.

- A polished, client-focused leadership style and the ability to inspire performance without compromising service.

- Strong coaching, communication, organisation and problem-solving capability.

- A collaborative and hands-on approach, with the willingness to personally support the team on the sales floor.

- High standards of personal presentation, discretion, professionalism and attention to detail.

- Flexibility to work a rotating luxury retail roster, including weekends and peak trading periods.

- Full Australian working rights.

Candidates currently working as a Department Manager, Team Manager, Assistant Store Manager or Store Manager within luxury or premium fashion are encouraged to apply. Applications from strong leaders in adjacent luxury categories will also be considered where there is credible womenswear knowledge and high-value clienteling experience.

What is offered

- A competitive remuneration package.

- A generous commission and incentive structure.

- Product benefits across an international luxury portfolio.

- High-quality training and ongoing professional development.

- The opportunity to lead an important category within a prominent Sydney boutique.

- Long-term career development within a respected global luxury organisation.

- A creative, inclusive and internationally connected working environment.

Please apply with your current CV and a brief introduction outlining your luxury retail leadership, womenswear and clienteling experience.
