About the role

Reporting to the Belbaker Group Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the effective daily management of the Lonestar Coaches depot, ensuring operational requirements are met safely, efficiently and consistently.

Key responsibilities

- Manage the daily running of the depot, ensuring vehicles, drivers and resources are organised and ready for scheduled work.
- Build positive relationships with drivers, communicate expectations clearly and support a professional, accountable and safety-focused team culture.
- Monitor vehicle availability, cleanliness, presentation and readiness, coordinating servicing, maintenance and repairs with the relevant teams.
- Work closely with the current Logistics team to manage operational requirements, vehicle movements, driver availability and changes to scheduled work.
- Promote compliance with relevant transport legislation, company procedures, fatigue management requirements, drug and alcohol policies and workplace health and safety standards.
- Maintain a safe, organised and functional depot, identifying opportunities to improve facilities, equipment and working conditions for drivers.
- Respond to day-to-day issues, minimise disruptions and work collaboratively with management and support teams to maintain service delivery.
- Identify practical ways to improve depot efficiency, fleet utilisation, communication, cost control and operational performance.




- Maintain accurate operational records, report issues and incidents promptly, and follow through on agreed actions.

About you

- Experience in transport, bus and coach operations, fleet management, logistics or a similar operational environment.
- Previous experience supervising staff, leading a team or managing a depot or operational facility.
- A sound understanding of transport safety, compliance and operational risk management.
- Solid planning, coordination and problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond calmly to changing priorities.
- Clear communication skills and the confidence to work with drivers, managers, maintenance providers and customers.
- A hands-on approach, with the initiative to identify problems and see solutions through.
- Good computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate records and use operational systems.
- A commitment to accountability, teamwork, customer service and continuous improvement.
- An MR or preferably HR QLD drivers licence or higher.
- A QLD drivers authority or the ability to obtain one.

Lonestar Coaches, part of the Belbaker Group, operates from the Burleigh Heads depot on the Gold Coast. The Burleigh depot is an important part of the growing operation, with the team established at recent premises and continuing to develop the facilities and operational processes to support drivers, fleet and customers.
