About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Residential Construction Estimator to join our team and assist with the estimating, costing and procurement of our residential building projects.

The successful candidate must have a minimum of 1 year of residential construction estimating experience, hands-on experience using Databuild software, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure while managing multiple projects and deadlines.

You will work closely with our construction and office teams, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accurate estimating, purchasing and cost management across our projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare accurate construction estimates, cost breakdowns and Bills of Quantities (BOQs)

- Review architectural plans, engineering drawings and construction specifications

- Carry out material take-offs and prepare purchase orders

- Obtain, review and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations

- Liaise with suppliers, negotiate competitive pricing and source new or alternative suppliers when required

- Coordinate purchasing, procurement and material requirements

- Manage and coordinate a team of overseas estimators, reviewing their work and ensuring accuracy and timely completion

- Monitor project costs, budgets and construction variations

- Identify discrepancies,



missing information and potential cost issues

- Maintain accurate estimating records, pricing schedules and project documentation

About You

- Minimum 1 year of experience in residential construction estimating

- Practical experience using Databuild estimating software

- Strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials and building stages

- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer applications

- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and take ownership of tasks

- Full Australian working rights

Qualifications & Preferred Experience

- Relevant qualification in Construction Management, Estimating, Quantity Surveying or a related field

- Experience using AutoCAD is preferred but not essential

- Previous experience with Rooming House / Class 1B construction will be considered an added advantage
