About the role A Driller's Offsider performs routine tasks in setting up, operating and dismantling drilling sites, assisting the driller in remote and harsh mining environments.
Key responsibilities
- Perform routine tasks in setting up, operating and dismantling drilling sites
- Assist the driller
- Dismantle, move and reassemble drilling rigs and accessory plant
- Take samples of ore and package them
- Perform minor maintenance and repairs, and lubricate and clean plant
- Record performance details and information obtained from drill holes, and keep logs detailing operations
- Monitor operation of plant and ensure safety of other workers on mining sites and during drilling operations
- Maintain duty of care for other users and work to occupational health and safety requirements
- Complete pre-start processes
- Complete and submit required paperwork including time sheets, pre-start checks, OHS requirements to the standard expected
About you
- Physically fit and ready to work in all remote and harsh conditions
- National Police Clearance (within 3 months)
- Heavy Rigid Licence (front & back)
- First Aid Certificate – HLTAID009, HLTAID010 & HLTAID011 (within 3 years)
