The Malaya is a Sydney dining institution, proudly serving our distinctive style of Southeast Asian cuisine since 1963. As a family-run restaurant now in its third generation, we've build a reputation on great food, warm hospitality and a loyal community of guests.
Located in Grosvenor Place in the heart of Sydney CBD, we offer modern dining space, and extensive wine and cocktail offering, and professional yet relaxed approach to service.
We are fortunate to have a strong team of long-standing staff and we are looking for experience, confident and enthusiastic section waiters to join us our team with an immediate start.
We have full-time, part-time and casual positions available. We offer flexibility without roster through out the week, and are happy to work with individual availability, including university schedules.
We are looking for:
- Minimum 1 years of hospitality experience in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment
- Exceptional communication skills and a pro-active work ethic
- Confidence carrying 3 plates and managing a section independently
- Basic wine knowledge or an interest in learning
- A positive and engaging attitude and a genuine passion for hospitality
- A current NSW RSA certificate
- Experience with restaurant POS systems (training provided for our specific system)
- Strong teamwork skills, initiative and attention to detail
