Junior, Intermediate and Senior Positions Available

Position Overview

We are seeking Junior, Intermediate, and Senior Façade Consultants with an architectural background tojoin our growing team.

The successful candidates will be responsible for reviewing architectural façade details, assessingcompliance with the National Construction Code and relevant Australian Standards, preparing façadecompliance documentation, and conducting site inspections during construction.

The role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicateeffectively with clients, architects, builders, consultants, and other project stakeholders.

The level of responsibility, project management, and client involvement will be determined based on thesuccessful candidate’s experience.

Key Responsibilities

Review architectural drawings, façade details, specifications, and consultant documentation.

Assess façade designs for compliance with the National Construction Code, relevant AustralianStandards, and project-specific requirements.

Provide architectural and technical advice regarding façade systems, detailing, weatherproofing,waterproofing, and constructability.

Prepare weatherproofing performance solution reports, façade compliance reports, façadespecifications, and technical assessments.

Prepare wind reports and other façade-related technical reports where required.

Develop façade sketch details, architectural details, drawings, and design solutions.

Design and assess façade systems based on environmental conditions, building performancerequirements, material selection, and installation methods.

Carry out façade design, engineering, and buildability assessments.

Prepare and review calculations for various façade components and systems.

Undertake structural analysis of façade elements where required.

Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, product information, calculations, samples, andtechnical documentation.

Identify design risks, coordination issues, construction concerns, and potential areas of non-compliance.

Provide practical, innovative, and cost-effective façade design solutions.

Coordinate façade elements with the overall architectural and structural design.

Liaise with architects, structural engineers, builders, certifiers, suppliers, manufacturers, and otherconsultants.

Attend project meetings and provide technical advice to clients and project stakeholders.

Conduct site inspections during fabrication, installation, and construction.

Inspect façade elements and assess whether completed works comply with approved documentation, relevant standards, and project requirements.

Prepare site inspection reports, photographic records, defect reports, and compliance documentation.

Respond to requests for information, construction queries,



and technical issues.

Maintain accurate project records, calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, andcorrespondence.

Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and othermembers of the façade industry.

Liaise and collaborate with other disciplines within the company as required.

Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company quality assurance procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Building Design, or a related discipline.

Relevant experience in façade consulting, building envelope design, architectural detailing, façade contracting, or a related field.

Previous local Australian experience is highly regarded.

A master’s degree in Façade Engineering is desirable but not essential.

Demonstrated understanding of façade systems, architectural detailing, materials, constructionmethods, and installation techniques.

Experience reviewing architectural drawings and façade shop drawings.

Experience preparing or reviewing façade reports, specifications, calculations, and technicaldocumentation.

Familiarity with the National Construction Code and relevant Australian Standards relating tofaçades, weatherproofing, waterproofing, glazing, and building envelopes.

Experience conducting façade inspections and preparing inspection reports is highly regarded.

Experience Levels

Junior Façade Consultant

Relevant qualification in architecture, architectural engineering, building design, structural engineering, or a related field.

Graduate experience or up to approximately 2 years of relevant industry experience.

Basic understanding of façade systems, architectural detailing, and construction documentation.

Willingness to learn façade compliance requirements, reporting, and site inspection procedures.

Ability to work under the guidance and supervision of senior team members.

Intermediate Façade Consultant

Approximately 3 to 5 years of relevant façade, architectural, or building envelope experience.

Demonstrated experience reviewing architectural drawings and façade details.

Ability to prepare façade reports, specifications, technical assessments, and inspection reports.

Experience coordinating with clients, architects, contractors,



and consultants.

Ability to manage assigned projects with limited supervision.

Senior Façade Consultant

More than 5 years of relevant façade consulting, building envelope, architectural, or façade contracting experience.

Strong knowledge of façade systems, materials, detailing, performance requirements, andconstruction methods.

Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing façade compliance reports, performance solutions, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation.

Ability to manage façade projects from initial design through to construction and completion.

Experience reviewing and approving work prepared by junior and intermediate consultants.

Ability to mentor team members, allocate tasks, monitor project progress, and maintaindocumentation quality.

Strong client management, project management, and stakeholder communication skills.

Technical Skills

Strong architectural sketching and façade detailing skills.

Valuable working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar CAD software.

Experience with Revit and BIM coordination is highly regarded.

Understanding of façade systems, including glazing, curtain walls, windows, cladding, masonry, lightweight systems, waterproofing, sealants, and interfaces.

Understanding of façade materials, fabrication methods, installation techniques, tolerances, and construction sequencing.

Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and consultant documentation.

Ability to prepare clear and accurate façade sketches, drawings, reports, specifications, and technical correspondence.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to identify defects, compliance concerns, coordination issues, and construction risks.

Communication and Professional Skills

Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Ability to clearly explain technical and compliance matters to clients, architects, builders, consultants,and other stakeholders.

Strong report-writing and technical documentation skills.

Professional and confident when attending meetings and conducting site inspections.

Strong organisational, time-management, and project coordination skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.

Proactive and able to demonstrate initiative, focus, and accountability.

Ability to work independently while seeking guidance where required.

Pay: $55,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year
