Hamilton Island Private Apartments is looking for an experienced Guest Service Agent to join our team. The successful candidate will be a happy and self-motivated person seeking a long-term position, with great flexibility and availability to work all shifts across 7 days. You will be discreet, trustworthy and have great integrity, displaying strong initiative and problem-solving skills and be able to self-motivate in a work-from-home setting.
Key responsibilities
- Booking Management: Taking, changing, and cancelling reservations via phone, email, or OTA's.
- Check-in/Check-out: Registering arriving guests and preparing final correspondence.
- Guest Services: Answering inquiries regarding apartment facilities, local attractions, and services.
- Housekeeping Coordination: Communicating with maintenance and cleaning staff to ensure apartments are ready for guests.
- Administrative Tasks: Handling payments, updating the booking system RMS, OTAs and managing phone calls.
- Valet Services: Coordinating transfers with Valets.
- Resolving problems & complaints: Communicating with guests,
valets and housekeepers.
About you
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively without supervision.
- Strong computer and administrative skills.
- Front office administrative hospitality experience, including Property Management Systems & Online Travel Agents (OTAs).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to handle guest interactions professionally.
- Proficiency in property management software and MS Office. Prior RMS experience will be highly regarded.
- Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and patience.
- Ability to manage check-ins, phone calls, and admin tasks simultaneously.
- Previous experience in hotel/motel/apartment rental and customer service is required.
- Approved Australian working rights (Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency or a Visa with approved working rights).
- Prior experience with the Whitsundays region will be highly regarded.
