Total Connections is looking for a capable, mechanically minded Service Technician to join our Port Hedland team.

We welcome experienced hydraulic hose technicians, mechanical fitters, diesel mechanics, field service technicians and mechanically capable applicants looking to move into hydraulics.

FIFO and residential applicants are welcome. Whether you already live in the Pilbara or are looking for a FIFO opportunity, we’d like to hear from you.

? About the Role

Based at our Wedgefield branch, you’ll work across customer sites, mobile plant and equipment, and our workshop throughout Port Hedland and the surrounding Pilbara region.

The work is varied: attend a breakdown, diagnose a problem, manufacture a replacement hose or help complete a workshop repair. You’ll have responsibility for your jobs, with support from our local team and wider WA branch network.

Depending on your experience and training, your work will include:

- Onsite breakdown response, planned maintenance and equipment installations.

- Assembly and crimping of hydraulic hose assemblies.

- Removal and replacement of hydraulic and industrial hoses on plant and equipment.

- Hydraulic fault finding, diagnosis and minor servicing.

- Fire suppression system servicing and maintenance.

- Hydraulic cylinder removal, inspection, rebuilding and testing.

- Vehicle Loading Crane (VLC) inspection, maintenance and overhaul support.

- Completing accurate job reports and documentation through mobile systems.

- Managing parts, tooling and stock carried in your service vehicle.

- Maintaining a clean, safe and professionally presented service vehicle and work area.

- Building strong customer relationships and keeping customers informed of job progress.

Already experienced in mobile hose servicing? Put your skills to work across a broad range of customers and equipment.

Coming from another mechanical background? We’re open to applicants with transferable skills who want to learn hydraulics and expand their capabilities.

Required:





- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving ability.

- MR driver’s licence.

- Clear communication and a customer-focused approach.

- Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities.

- Ability to follow site procedures and secure work practices.

- Willingness to participate in after-hours and on-call breakdown coverage.

- Reliable attendance and a professional attitude.

Desirable — experience in any of these areas will be valued:

- Hydraulic systems or fluid power.

- Hydraulic hose and fittings.

- Mobile hose servicing or field service.

- Mechanical fitting, diesel mechanics or mobile plant maintenance.

- Mining, heavy equipment, transport or construction equipment.

- Fire suppression servicing or relevant qualifications.

- Hydraulic cylinder rebuilding.

- Vehicle Loading Crane inspection, repair or overhaul.

- Forklift licence.

- Construction white card.

- Working at Heights, Confined Space or EWP qualifications.

- HR driver’s licence.
