Legal Counsel | Commercial Contracts & Procurement | Sydney

Join an established in-house legal team within a hospitality business, with significant exposure to commercial contracts, procurement and senior business stakeholders.

We are working with a hospitality business to recruit a Legal Counsel into its Sydney-based legal team.

This opportunity will suit a commercial lawyer with approximately 4–6 years' PQE who is looking to develop their in-house career, take ownership of commercial matters and work closely with senior stakeholders.

You'll join an experienced and collaborative legal team, with the opportunity to develop your commercial skills in a business-facing position.

What work will you do?

Your responsibilities will include

- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a high volume of commercial agreements.
- Advising on procurement contracts and related commercial matters.
- Providing practical legal advice to senior stakeholders across the business.
- Managing contractual negotiations and identifying commercial and legal risks.
- Building strong relationships with internal business teams.
- Working collaboratively with the broader legal function on commercial matters and projects.

What type of person will be successful?

We are interested in speaking with lawyers who have:

- Approximately 4–6 years' PQE.
- Strong experience in commercial contracts, procurement or general commercial law.
- Experience gained in private practice, in-house or a combination of both.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
- Confidence advising and building relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a high volume of work.
- A commercial, pragmatic approach to legal advice.
- An approachable personality and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
