About the role An exciting opportunity exists for a Logging Geologist to join the Exploration team at Fosterville Gold Mine on a 12-month fixed-term contract, working part-time (19 hours per week).
This role is ideal for a geologist seeking flexibility while remaining actively involved in exploration and resource growth activities at one of Australia's premier underground gold mining operations.
Key responsibilities
- Log and interpret diamond drill core to a high technical standard
- Complete geological logging targets while maintaining data quality and accuracy
- Assist with core yard activities including core organisation, sampling and tray management
- Assist drill program activities through daily rig monitoring, hole tracking and data entry as required
- Contribute to a positive safety culture and actively support continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with geology teams and operational stakeholders to achieve shared outcomes
- Mentor and support Graduate Geologists in applying industry best practices
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences or a related discipline
- Minimum 2 years' experience in mining or exploration geology
- Exposure to structural geology and diamond drill core logging
- Understanding of geological data management and QA/QC principles
- Experience with, or exposure to, 3D geological modelling software
- Robust organisational,
communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement
- The ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
