We are a small privately owned company, looking for a reliable and motivated Laser Cutting & Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team in Salisbury North. This is a hands-on production role working with CNC laser cutting and press brake machinery to manufacture sheet metal components for a variety of customers and industries. We are looking for someone who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work and enjoys working in a busy manufacturing workplace.
Key responsibilities
- Operating CNC laser cutting machines
- Operating CNC press brake machines
- Loading and unloading sheet metal and finished components
- Setting up machines for different jobs and materials
- Reading production drawings and job instructions
- Checking dimensions and finished parts against drawings
- Using measuring equipment such as vernier calipers and tape measures
- Identifying and reporting production or quality issues
- Handling steel, stainless steel and aluminium components
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area
About you
- Experience in laser cutting, press brake operation, sheet metal or metal fabrication
- Good ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Confidence using measuring equipment
- Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- A strong focus on quality and accuracy
- Good communication skills
- A reliable and positive attitude
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A strong commitment to workplace safety
- Previous experience with CNC manufacturing equipment will be an advantage
