About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Painting Supervisor who takes pride in their trade and can bring out the best in a team.

Based in Mildura, Victoria, with occasional travel throughout the region, you’ll coordinate the daily delivery of painting projects while remaining actively involved on the tools. You’ll organise workloads, guide painters and apprentices, communicate with clients and builders, and ensure each job meets MJS Painting’s expectations for preparation, finish and presentation.

Key responsibilities

- Leading daily site activities and allocating work to painters and apprentices.

- Working alongside the team, demonstrating sound techniques and attention to detail.

- Checking surface preparation, product selection and finishes throughout each project.

- Planning labour, materials and equipment to meet agreed schedules.

- Coordinating with builders, other trades and clients to keep work progressing smoothly.

- Maintaining safe, tidy sites and protecting customers' property.

- Identifying defects, delays or scope changes early and discussing solutions with management.

- Coaching apprentices and encouraging improvements in how the team works.

About you

- Capable painter with supervisory or leading hand experience.

- Strong practical knowledge and a calm,



organised approach.

- Explicit communicator who follows through on commitments.

- Relevant trade qualifications or substantial painting experience.

- Current driver licence and willingness to travel occasionally.

- Experience across residential painting, commercial projects and new builds.

- Ability to order materials within approved limits, monitor usage and minimise waste.

- Ability to maintain secure storage, clean equipment and vehicles, and arrange maintenance or report faults.
